The concept of a year-round suit is sort of a myth. And, like no-iron shirts, they’re not entirely necessary in the first place. That said, it does make sense to have some mid-weight wool suits in your wardrobe that bridge the gap between linen and flannel. Even better if they’re a light gray color that feels at home at your last summer weddings as well as your first fall dinner parties. So, while it’s pointless to attempt to wear one type of suit year-round, it’s just common sense to have one you can wear during September’s unpredictable swings in both weather and Saturday-night rituals.
